Terms of service
Last updated 4 November 2026. Zenze, Entebbe, Uganda. Contact: support@paidupbyzenze.com
These terms are an agreement between Zenze ("PaidUp", "we") and the business that creates a PaidUp account ("you"). By using PaidUp you accept them.
1. What PaidUp does
PaidUp is accounts receivable software. It helps you keep track of invoices you have issued and sends polite reminders about your own unpaid invoices to your own customers by SMS or email, on a schedule you control. It records payments and shows you what is outstanding.
PaidUp only acts for you about money owed to you. It does not act for anyone else, buy invoices, take legal steps, report anyone to credit agencies, or contact anyone other than the customer contacts you provide.
2. Your account
- You must give accurate information and keep your login details secure.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account, including actions by your staff.
- You must be authorised to act for the business you register.
3. Your responsibilities when sending reminders
- Only enter invoices that are genuinely owed to your business, with correct amounts and dates.
- Only contact your own customers, using contact details they gave you. Never use PaidUp to contact relatives, colleagues, employers or other third parties about a customer's invoice.
- Obtain and record the consent the law and messaging providers require (for example SMS consent where your country's rules require it).
- Honour opt-outs, disputes and promises to pay. PaidUp pauses reminders automatically when these are recorded.
- Keep message wording respectful. Do not add threats, shaming, legal warnings or consequences to templates. PaidUp may block such wording.
- Check the wording of your reminders. You can turn on approve-before-send on the Reminders page to review each message before it goes out.
- Comply with the laws that apply to you and your customers, including data-protection, consumer-protection and electronic messaging laws. PaidUp's country messaging rules are drafts to help you, not legal advice.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use PaidUp for spam or marketing messages, to harass anyone, to send unlawful content, to break the rules of WhatsApp, SMS carriers or email providers, or to attempt to access other accounts or disrupt the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
5. Customer data and privacy
You control your customers' data; we process it for you as described in our Privacy policyand our data-processing agreement. You confirm you have a lawful basis to give us that data and to send reminders.
6. Plans, prices and payment
- New accounts get a free 14-day trial with everything in Premium. No card or payment is needed to start.
- After the trial you need a paid plan to keep sending reminders. Starter costs US$18 a month or US$180 a year; Premium costs US$21 a month or US$210 a year. Each plan's limits (active clients and SMS reminders a month) are shown on the pricing and Subscription pages.
- Plans are charged in US dollars and paid by bank transfer, using the reference code PaidUp gives you. Your plan starts, or is extended, once we confirm the transfer. Bank and transfer charges are yours.
- Plans do not renew automatically. When a paid period ends, reminders pause until you pay again. Your data is kept and nothing is deleted.
- SMS reminders over your plan's monthly allowance wait until the next month or until you upgrade. Email reminders are not limited.
- If you paid by mistake, or we could not provide the service you paid for, contact support@paidupbyzenze.com within 14 days of paying and we will refund the unused part of the period.
- We may change prices for future periods. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change affects you, and a period you have already paid for is not affected.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep PaidUp available and reliable but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that every message is delivered, since delivery depends on third-party networks. We may change or improve features and will give notice of changes that materially affect you.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, PaidUp is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or amounts your customers fail to pay. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using PaidUp at any time and ask us to delete your account and data from Settings (see Data deletion). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. When an account closes, reminders stop immediately.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, and its courts have jurisdiction, unless the law where you are based gives you the right to use your local courts. If you have a complaint, email support@paidupbyzenze.com first and we will try to resolve it with you.
